The man behind the most recognizable space series in the world, Star Wars, sold his baby to Disney in 2012. Now, 8 years later, George Lucas still finds his decision to be very painful. Lucas was chief architect of two separate Star Wars trilogies and was looking at a third until he chose to give up all rights to Lucasfilm and its assets to Disney is a buy out.
At age 69, George Lucas chose life and family over film. While there is bitter-sweetness lingering, even nearly a decade later, Lucas did have a plan for Episodes VII-IX before Disney chose to go in their own direction.
